The FFW Year in Review: 2016

Can you believe 2017 is already here? Looking back on 2016, the FFW Wonder Women reflected on accomplishments, challenges, and memories with a smile. We invited the Wonder Women to share the moments that made their 2016 as they look optimistically toward new goals and exciting projects for the year ahead!

McKinzie: My professional highlight included reconnecting with some savvy old friends who are once again clients for a kick-off holiday event that people are still talking about! Personally, my 2016 highlights include watching my kiddos grow through birthdays, school achievements, and social activities. There is nothing more important than family. And this Mama relishes every minute of the chaos!

Marsha: My 2016 highlight was having our first baby, Colin Eric Tempesta! Born Nov. 23, 2016, he is the best thing we’ve ever done and we are excited to watch him grow in the new year!

Susie: When I started 2016, I set a goal of removing more items from my house than I brought in during the year. Over the past 12 months, I’ve parted ways with boxes of books, bags of clothes, pots, pans and furniture, and it felt great to let go of so much. For 2017, I’m going to try to go full Kondo, as in New York Times best-selling author Marie Kondo’s “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” and really, really try to find inner peace by being tidy.

Lisa: We adopted a new four-legged friend! Holly was a hard-to-adopt senior terrier mix before we grabbed her up. She is so lovable and sweet to all the other animals and humans in our house.

Amy: My 2016 highlights were all the firsts I got to experience. Mostly with my daughter Addison-her first tooth, first step, first words, first birthday. Professionally, I won my first PRSA Pinnacle awards for the PR campaigns I did for the Plaza Hotel and Casino.

Dana: He finally put a ring on it!Sparkles on Apple iOS 10.2 Ring on Apple iOS 10.2Sparkles on Apple iOS 10.2

Katie: …And I stopped dating!

Morgan: This year I graduated from the University of Oregon and moved on from the place I called home for the last four years. Although my time has come to an end, I will carry the memories I made and the friends who became family in my heart forever. On to bigger and better things!

Linda: While I would like to rewrite much of the news in 2016, it was a pretty good year for me professionally and personally. Our client Inspirada was named one of the nation’s top 10 best-selling master-planned communities just two years out of the gate. I was honored to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from fellow University of Nevada Journalism alumni; my son Justin Chambers was voted best television personality in Colorado Springs for the third year in a row; and I married my best friend Jim Amstutz at my beloved Camp Galilee, Lake Tahoe. Not bad!

Cherryl: The highlight of my year was vacationing in the Virgin Islands where I visited four different islands, snorkeled in crystal blue waters, swam with turtles and enjoyed the best rum cocktails I’ve ever had!

Melissa: Politically, the best part of 2016 is that it’s over!  Personally, I am hopeful our country can move forward with a positive outlook.  Professionally, 2016 was stupendous thanks to the FFW Wonder Women who continue to achieve great things on behalf of our fabulous clients.  We are fortunate to work with many of the leading companies, nonprofits and entities in Southern Nevada.  And we are grateful every day for their trust in us!

Thanks for spending 2016 with us, and we can’t wait to see what awaits in 2017! Happy New Year!
