Account Executive, Public Relations
Cherryl Kaopua joined Faiss Foley Warren Public Relations & Government Affairs in August 2015 as account executive, bringing a decade of PR experience via former roles in the hospitality, entertainment, food and beverage, non-profit and gaming industries.
Today, Kaopua oversees public relations for Silver State Health Insurance Exchange, Nevada’s resource for customizable, budget-appropriate health coverage plans, and Dress for Success Southern Nevada, a nonprofit dedicated to providing professional attire and career counseling to disadvantaged women entering the workforce. She is also an integral part of the team that works with Cantina Laredo Mexican restaurant in Tivoli Village, DK Las Vegas real estate group, Ethel M chocolates and Inspirada, a fully planned community in Henderson.
Kaopua’s previous positions include assistant account executive at Kirvin Doak Communications, where she honed her PR skillset working with reputable clients such as Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group Las Vegas, Golden Gaming and VEGAS.com. She also served as PR manager at Palms Casino Resort and led day-to-day initiatives for N9NE Steakhouse, Nove Italiano, ghostbar and Palms Pool, among others; and senior PR manager at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, where she executed PR campaigns for the hotel’s multi-phase expansion project, oversaw all filming and promoted upcoming concerts at The Joint. Kaopua also served as public relations specialist at Three Square Food Bank, supporting annual fundraising initiatives such as Fashion for Three Square and Las Vegas Restaurant Week. In this capacity, she created the Culinary Council, organizing its more than 40 Council members, including Brian Howard, Charlie Palmer and Carla Pellegrino.
More recently, Kaopua was public relations representative with gaming industry giant, IGT. She was responsible for pitching products to B2B and B2C media outlets, elevating new product launches through news stories, creating strategies for tradeshows and developing industry editorials.
A proud UNLV alumni, Kaopua earned her degree in journalism and media studies. Over the course of her college career, she fulfilled internships with KVVU Fox 5 TV, Caesars Entertainment and Virgen Advertising.
When Kaopua isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys trying new restaurants and traveling with her long-time boyfriend.
