Public Relations & Social Media Manager
Daniella Cortez Alvarez is a public relations & social media manager at Faiss Foley Warren PR & Government Affairs. She assists senior account executives on several accounts, primarily by coordinating information and community outreach for the Downtown marketing initiative for the City of Las Vegas. She is also responsible for the day to day management of social media for Dot Vegas, Inc.
Cortez Alvarez attended the College of Southern Nevada and the University of Nevada Las Vegas, studying sociology and English at both institutions. She returned to her home state of Alaska and worked as a victim advocate at S.T.A.R (Standing Together Against Rape), a rape crisis agency serving the Anchorage community and assisting rural communities. She also completed a series of trainings for crisis line and victim assistance training compliant with Alaska state statutes.
In addition to work with S.T.A.R, Cortez Alvarez volunteered with YWCA and a homeless shelter for youth in Alaska. She was the entertainment editor of the Anchorage Press. In late 2013, Cortez Alvarez relocated back to Las Vegas where she currently co-authors an online advice column that covers topics including enthusiastic consent, sexual assault and safe sex advocacy. She is a passionate supporter of youth empowerment and community health education and volunteers with The Center, a nonprofit serving the LGBTQ community of Las Vegas.
She lives, works and plays in downtown Las Vegas with her husband and two rescue dogs.
