WHAT: The Downtown Las Vegas Alliance (DLVA), a non-profit corporation comprised of downtown Las Vegas stakeholders, and many of its members are giving back to the neighborhood by donating funds and participating in the second Downtown Cares volunteer project, led by El Cortez Hotel & Casino and the Moonridge Group.

Hundreds of volunteers will spend Saturday morning at Las Vegas Academy high school where they will clean, paint, garden in the courtyard, and install a piece of public art created by Miguel Rodriguez.

In addition to a donation from DLVA, those contributing financially to the effort include DLVA board chairman and president Rich Worthington, Sam Cherry of Soho Lofts and Pop Up Pizza, Andrew Artusa from Zions Bank, Terry Murphy from Strategic Solutions, Gina Gavan from Project Dinner Table and Tribal Minds and Melissa Warren from Faiss Foley Warren.

Downtown Cares is a grassroots effort to uplift historic downtown Las Vegas by organizing area residents, businesses and visitors for neighborhood service days. The event is sponsored by, Repurpose America and the City of Las Vegas.
