Insert Coin(S) First Downtown Venue To Partner With The Rape Crisis Center On“Party Smart” Initiative

 In Press Releases

WHAT:     On January 28, the staff at downtown Las Vegas bar/nightclub, Insert Coin(s), will receive “Party Smart” training from The Rape Crisis Center on how to spot predatory behaviors and react to situations in ways that maximize safety for both employees and patrons.  The training marks the beginning of an ongoing partnership between the venue and The Rape Crisis Center, as Insert Coin(s) joins several Las Vegas Strip nightclubs that support the organization’s “Party Smart” initiative.

“We welcome this partnership with the Rape Crisis Center and look forward to the training that will help our staff better protect our patrons as they are having a good time at Insert Coin(s),” said Christopher LaPorte, owner of Insert Coin(s). “The safety and security of our guests is our top priority, and we are vigilant about doing all that we can to prevent sexual assault.”

During the course of the training on January 28, The Rape Crisis Center will instruct Insert Coin(s) staff on a variety of topics, including how to spot “red-flag” behavior, checking in with intoxicated guests before they leave, and what to do if witnessing someone slipping something into another patron’s drink.  In addition, The Rape Crisis Center will facilitate exercises in which the Insert Coin(s) staff will brainstorm strategies based on various real-life situations.

“Party Smart is a robust campaign with a two-fold purpose: remind party goers how to stay safe amid the often-hectic party scene; and train nightclub staff including, security, bartenders, bouncers and cocktail servers to help keep their guests safe and to better identify, report and remove perpetrators before they have the chance to act,” said Gabrielle Amato, prevention and education manager at The Rape Crisis Center.
