Las Vegas Middle School students share their notes….

 In Blog

Twenty students from Cashman and Orr Middle Schools in Las Vegas recently got the chance to learn about nature in the best way possible – first hand.

Read the notes the students shared on their experiences below! The field trip took them to the Las Vegas Bay Bluff Trail and the Las Vegas Boat Harbor in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

They learned about vegetation, animals, and the geology found in the Mojave Desert. They also were introduced to the marine life of Lake Mead.

Field trips like these are made possible through the After-School All-Stars Las Vegas Lifetime Adventures Program. The mission is to expose underserved middle school students to environments outside their neighborhoods and to promote youth outdoor learning and wilderness travel.
