Local nonprofit organizations to share $168,000 as part of Cox Charities’ annual presentation

 In Press Releases

WHAT: On Tuesday, March 18, Cox Charities will award $168,000 in grants to 28 local nonprofit organizations that support Southern Nevada’s children, families and/or education, including programs focused on S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

This is the seventh grant cycle for Cox Charities, which has awarded nearly $1 million to local organizations since 2007. Cox Charities is funded by Cox employee contributions and a variety of fundraisers including an annual Cox Employee Golf Tournament. A committee, comprised entirely of Cox employees, reviews all grant applications and selects the recipients. The Cox Charities Advisory Board, also employee-led, approves the grants and awards the monies.

“On behalf of the 1,300 employees of Cox Communications, Las Vegas, we are tremendously proud to support these diverse Southern Nevada organizations and the very important work each does,” said Mike Bolognini, market vice president.

WHEN: Tuesday, March 18 – Media interviews available from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

WHERE: Texas Station – Houston Meeting Room #3 – located just inside the hotel’s convention area; convenient parking and entrance on the North side of property.
