Meet the FFW Wonder Women & Support Light the Night Walk in Downtown Las Vegas
If you haven’t noticed, Faiss Foley Warren is a great team of professionals… who happen to all be women. Last year, when a local charity held a super hero-themed fundraiser run, a group of us decided to become the “FFW Wonder Women.” We flew (some faster than others) through the race course in the name of blood cancer research. Then the FFW Wonder Women participated in the ALS 5K and recently we walked for Dress for Success. Melissa Warren, FFW managing partner has been a great supporter of Make-A-Wish and FFW represents the Rape Crisis Center and After-School All-Stars Las Vegas; so philanthropy is part of what we do.
Last year, two FFW Wonder Women ran a half marathon for charity, but this year we decided to slow down and take a stroll. Every year, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society holds its annual Light the Night walk. The event is held in cities across the country and attracts thousands of people who come out in teams to celebrate blood cancer survivors, honor those who have passed away and raise money to find a cure for cancer. This November, team FFW Wonder Women and Friends will join the celebration and participate in the Southern Nevada Light the Night walk. The event is called Light the Night because of the signature red, yellow and white lanterns that illuminate the night sky. Everyone who raises at least $100 will receive a lantern and t-shirt. White lanterns are carried by survivors, red by supporters and gold lanterns are carried in memory of those who lost the battle with blood cancer.
I will be walking with a red lantern to signify my support of this amazing organization. Light the Night is part fundraiser and part celebration- all to support the mission to find a cure for blood cancer. This year, for the first time, the event will take place in downtown Las Vegas. It’s a fantastic new location for a spectacular event. FFW Wonder Woman Marsha MacEachern and I are hoping you will support this cause and join our team. We are already off to a great start thanks to a $1,500 donation from FFW. Email me at email@example.com if you would like more information.
