Watch 100+ volunteers in action at Summerlin Desert Clean-up

 In Blog

More than 100 volunteers of all ages participated in the May 14 Summerlin Desert Clean-up. In less than two years, Summerlin’s Desert Clean-up events have removed nearly 400,000 tons of trash.

Volunteers in this spring cleanup included Summerlin residents and members of Friends of Red Rock Canyon, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and The Meadows School. ValleyCrest Landscape Maintenance and Par 3 Landscape and Maintenance provided professional assistance.

Trash dumping in the desert occurs county-wide. Most illegally dumped items can be picked up by Republic Services. Call 702-735-5151 to schedule a special pick-up. To report illegal dumping, contact the Southern Nevada Health District at 702-759-0600.
