Valley’s largest cycling event offers new course starting and ending at Downtown Summerlin®
WHAT: Hundreds of cyclists are expected to participate in Tour de Summerlin, a non-competitive cycling event that features a 40-, 60- and 80-mile ride through and around the master-planned community. The all new courses include Summerlin’s dedicated bike routes, as well as wide, open desert roads with improved courses this year for those riding the longer routes starting and finishing at Downtown Summerlin®. The ride will kick off with a Lululemon pre-ride stretch.
The event benefits Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada. Last year the team raised more than $75,000 for Candlelighters, which provides programs and services that help improve the quality of life for the children and their families affected by childhood cancer.
Out of town participants can rent bikes from McGhies Ski, Bike & Board: 702-252-8077. This year’s event sponsors include California Pizza Kitchen, Nekter Juice Bar, Vision by Amel and The Howard Hughes Corporation. Crazy Pita and Wolfgang Puck restaurants are offering special promotions for cyclists the day before and the day of the event.
